1. Who we are

Make Me Happy ("we", "us") operates Area Match and is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: your email address and authentication credentials, so you can sign in.
  • Usage data: overlays you create, share links you generate, and how you interact with the app, so we can provide the Service and enforce free-plan limits.
  • Device & log data: IP address, browser type, and basic diagnostic logs, for security and troubleshooting.
  • Support communications: messages you send us.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We do not receive or store card numbers.

3. Why we use it

  • Create and manage your account (contract).
  • Provide, secure, and improve the Service (legitimate interests).
  • Enforce free-plan limits and entitlements (contract).
  • Respond to support requests (legitimate interests).
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting.

4. Who we share it with

  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting, database, and authentication services acting as our processors.
  • Map data providers — including OpenStreetMap / Nominatim, which receive the search queries you type.
  • Authorities — where required by law.

5. Retention

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we remove it (or anonymize it) except where retention is required by law (for example, transaction records kept by Paddle for tax purposes).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you're in the UK or EEA, you can also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We aim to respond within one month.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers are located outside your country. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

8. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level authorization in our database. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies

We use essential storage (including local storage) to keep you signed in and to remember basic app state. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
